Matt Mancz is the primary strength coach for the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. Mancz also previously worked with the Orange football program. A 2012 SUNY Cortland graduate, Mancz joined the Syracuse staff as an intern in the spring of 2012 and was promoted to assistant strength and conditioning coach in August 2012. In his time at Syracuse, the football team won the 2012 New Era Pinstripe Bowl and the 2013 Texas Bowl, and both lacrosse squads have advanced to the Final Four with the 2013 Orange men reaching the NCAA championship game and the Orange women making the 2014 NCAA final.
Mancz has worked with a host of lacrosse All-Americans on both the men’s and women’s side, including Tewaaraton Award finalists JoJo Marasco (2013), Kevin Rice (2015), Alyssa Murray (2013, 2014) and Kayla Treanor (2014, 2015).
Mancz, who earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, was a member of the Cortland football team in 2009 and 2010. He is certified as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
