Mike Barwis is the founder and CEO of the Barwis Methods family of companies, including the Barwis Methods Training Centers. Mike is currently the Senior Advisor to the New York Mets and a consultant for the Miami Dolphins. He was formerly the Director of Strength and Conditioning for the University of Michigan where he was directly responsible for the development and implementation of the strength and conditioning programs. In 2003, Barwis assumed the responsibility for the Mountaineers football program, while maintaining his position with the Olympic sports. During his tenure at West Virginia University he designed and implemented programs for all of the Mountaineers 21 varsity sports. His last 5 years at WVU were widely considered to be the golden era in WVU athletics.
Barwis has coached 38 National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) All-Americans and was one of 10 coaches to receive the Bronze Award from the NSCA certification commission. He has trained over 600 Olympic and professional athletes in over 40 sporting events.
In addition, Barwis has been published in numerous journals, magazines, newspapers, written several books, and produced several videos. Barwis earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from the School of Medicine at West Virginia University and his Master’s Degree in Athletic Coaching with an emphasis in strength and conditioning. He also completed course work in the area of anatomy and physiology at Temple University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the NSCA, BMI as a Barwis Methods Master Instructor and CPR and AED certified.
Additionally, Mike is the star of the Discovery Channel’s international hit TV show “American Muscle” which features his work with professional athletes and people with disabilities. Mike has also been featured in many tv, news, radio, and internet shows and is widely recognized as a leading authority on the neuromuscular systems and bio-mechanics. Barwis has been recognized in his field as one of the most influential strength coaches of all time.
Mike is married to Autumn who was the Associate Director of Strength & Conditioning at WVU. He has two sons, Ray and Charlie, as well as two daughters, Hannah and Julia.

Jake Beiting was hired as Astros strength and conditioning coach for the 2013 season. Prior to joining Houston, he had served as the Cleveland Indians minor league strength and conditioning coordinator for five seasons (2008-12).
As coordinator, Beiting worked with players at the Indians Spring Training complex in Goodyear, AZ, which included working with Major League players during the offseason.
He began his career in professional baseball as an intern working in the Cleveland Indians weight room in 2004-05, and later was named strength coach for the Gulf Coast League Indians minor league club in 2007.
Beiting earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from John Carroll University in 2006 and later his master's degree in exercise science from the University of South Florida in 2008.
He and his wife, Maggie, have two young sons, Maxwell and Charlie (born January 18, 2013).

Anthony Glass has been the director of strength and conditioning for Olympic sports at Ohio State since 2000. Glass oversees strength and conditioning efforts for all sports at Ohio State with the exception of football.
He came to Ohio State after four years at the University of Georgia, where he directed all strength and conditioning efforts for 20 sports, with the exception of football, in the Bulldog athletics program.
Prior to his tenure at Georgia, Glass spent one year in a similar position at Boston College. Prior to that he spent four years with the physical conditioning/strength and conditioning program at Northern Illinois, where he also earned a MS.Ed. degree.
Glass is certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, the National Strength & Conditioning Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the United States of America Weightlifting Organization and Dragon Door. Glass was honored at the Ninth Annual National Conference of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) in May 2009 with the certification of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC), the highest honor for a coach in the strength and conditioning field.
A native of North Carolina, Glass graduated from Appalachian State in 1990 with a degree in exercise science.
Glass authored the book Weight Training: A Step by Step Guide to the Development of a Safe and Sound Program. He also authored two Speed and Agility video's for Coaches Choice. He has written a number of articles for major sport science journals and is a regular speaker at major conferences throughout the United States. Glass serves as the Ohio State director of the National Association of Speed and Explosion and is the former Ohio State director for the National Strength and Conditioning Association a position he held for six years.
He and his wife, Guerdie, have one son, Lee Anthony, Jr. (16), and two daughters, Leila (9) and Leena (7). They reside in Galena

Derek Millender joined the Cleveland Cavaliers from local Cleveland State University (CSU). As the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for four seasons at CSU, he was responsible for the strength and conditioning programs for nearly 300 student-athletes in 17 intercollegiate sports. Prior to that, he served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Cleveland Indians and their Class A and Double-A teams.

Coach Ted Lambrinides has over 26 years of coaching experience in the field. He served as the Assistant Strength Coach at The Ohio State University where he trained numerous Buckeye All-Americans in a variety of sports. Presently, he serves as a consultant to several NFL teams including the Cincinnati Bengals, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the 2005 World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. He also consults for numerous major collegiate programs.
